A meeting designated especially for students of the Art School of Savona, who will have the unique opportunity to discuss and study in depth, the life and poetry of one of the greatest pioneers of Italian avant-garde art during the post-World War II period: Enrico Baj.
In light of the exhibition Baj. Figures of the Imagination 1951-2003, which the Art Museum of Palazzo Gavotti has dedicated to the artist, ROBERTA CERINI BAJ, wife and curator of Baj and LUCIANO CAPRILE, art critic, friend, and expert of his work will be available to answer questions on Monday the 30th of November. They will provide unique testimonies, rare images and important archival documents, which will be shown and commented on by those who lived in close contact with the artist.
With this initiative, the Cultural Foundation Centofiori and the Archive of Contemporary Art (ADAC) at the University of Genoa – in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Events and Youth Politics of the City of Savona and the Art School “A. Martini “in Savona – aim to promote and convey to the public the ongoing intellectual, adaptable, and visual research that has characterized the life and work of Enrico Baj and that today is demonstrated through an incredible number of masterpieces (produced using the most diverse techniques and materials) on display in the most important museums in the world and, for a short time in the Museum of Savona.
The event is free and will be held in the Sala Conferenze of Palazzo Gavotti in Piazza Chabrol, 2, from 11am onwards.
