This virtual tour of Yona Friedman’s ceramic city was made possible thanks to a collaboration between the Savona Ceramics Museum and DAD (Department of Architecture and Design) of the University of Genoa, Italy.
A special thanks goes to the Fonds de Dotation Denise et Yona Friedman and Jean-Baptiste Decavèle for their invaluable assistance, and to Hans-Ulrich Obrist who invited Yona Friedman to the Biennale of Ceramics in Contemporary Art. Organized by Attese Edizioni, the Biennale was held in early 2003 in the Savona area intent on bringing artists and designers to work in collaboration with the local ceramicists. On that occasion, Friedman made his ceramic model of a city in collaboration with the ceramics laboratory, Ceramiche San Giorgio in Albissola Marina.
