Buongiorno Ceramica: the events not to be missed

Friday May 29th will be the opening day of an initiative involving museums, craftsmanship districts and artisans all over Italy: “Buongiorno Ceramica! 3 days dedicated to clay, art and craftsmanship”. On this occasion, we decided to grant to all visitors free access to the Museo della Ceramica: tomorrow, Saturday May 30th, Palazzo Gavotti will be open and free from 10 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. and from 3:30 pm. to 6:30 p.m.

For all those who will happen to be in the area around Savona during the Buongiorno Ceramica weekend, here are our suggestions for the events which should not be missed:

May 29th:

Mondovì“La Terra di Mezzo. La via della ceramica tra Liguria e Piemonte” (“The Middle-Earth. The route of ceramics from Liguria to Piemonte”): a full day of activities dedicated to the schools of Albissola Marina, Albisola Superiore and Mondovì, where to share knowledge and experiences and confront each other.

May 30th:

Albissola MarinaLa cucina futurista, una sfida per il palato (“The Futurist cuisine, a palatable challenge”), event curated by Luca Bochicchio. From 5.30 p.m. the Giardino Museo Giuseppe Mazzotti 1903 will host the presentation of the book “Cucina futurista. Manifesti teorici, menù e documenti” (“Futurist cuisine. Theoretical manifestoes, menus and documents”) by its writer Guido Andrea Pautasso through a playful happening: a tasting event featuring unconventional Futurist dishes.

May 31st:

Albissola MarinaFish-Art 2014 “U PESCIU”(“The Fish”), a performance involving food and ceramics organized in collaboration with “Circolo degli Artisti”, “Pescheria degli Artisti” and the Italia Nostra team from Savona. From 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the very heart of the town, two hundred painters will be working simultaneously to decorate their own ceramic plate focusing on the theme of “fish”. At the end of this live performance, a small reception will then be followed by the charity auction where the artworks will be put up for auction.

Albisola SuperioreStreet ceramic food, il cibo incontra la ceramica (“Street ceramic food, food meets ceramics”). During the day, the ceramic artisan workshops will be creating plates of marine inspiration, which will then be distributed to the cafés, restaurants and beach clubs taking part in the initiative. In these same venues, it will be possible to taste the traditional dishes of the area and then buy the ceramics plates as a souvenir.
